Escada - Resort
So, a hand full of designers have shown their resort collections...and Escada is one of them. Now, I know that many people think of Escada as a luxury brand for 'older' people..but I beg to differ. I have a friend who is totally obsessed with Escada and I always thought that it was pretty amazing how she would withstand criticism from all her friends about her love for the brand...
But now, I am a believer. Although the collection was small...it was very nicely done- and not old at all!
It was actually sweet....easy...and very refreshing!
Oscar de la Renta- Resort
Another feast for the eyes when you see the Oscar de la Renta collection that walked today...the colors are so bold and electrifying!
There is an unmistakable sophistication in all of the designer's garments and it's definitely here in the resort collection too.
The ruffles are beautiful...and a huge trend (if you haven't noticed from all of our posts...)
Giving us tons to choose from...we have separates to mix and match, dresses and great gowns....

Fendi
Fendi showed it's resort collection... I really can't say too much about it because it really wasn't all that interesting. Fendi presented us with shorts...jeans, simple dress...a couple uninspired suits...and a jumper. blakh, if you ask me....I am bored!
It's surprising to see...if anything, Fendi should have an amazing resort/cruise collection....it was sweet, but nothing to jump up and down for!
The Grand Life...
Christian Dior's resort collection just walked and my, oh my...what a beautiful sight!
The richness of the designs and the colors...oh, the colors. The whites, purples...corals and fuchsia's that made it's way down that runway made my inside's smile.
It truly offered a little something for everyone...sexiness, sophistication, cuteness and ease...
The details were phenomenal too- the ruffles, the little bows, the strips and the prints! We loved the applique and the broaches used on the looks...and we loved the stone work on the bathing suits that Galliano sent down the runway.
The pale tones he used for the gowns...and then, he mixes in a leopard print!! It makes for a feisty touch- a touch we love!
Each look made you want more....and as you received more candy for the eyes- you couldn't help but become more selfish...and want even more!! It made you feel special...grand!
This was a truly beautiful collection... in true Galliano style.

Wondering what that is? Well, it's ELLE Magazines very own reality TV show...Now this is something to be excited for...seriously! Since the preview of the show took place at the CW Up-fronts...we can only assume it will be the CW that airs this show! I wonder what Anne Slowey has got in store for us...(Anne Slowey = ELLE)

Swimsuits...
Yes...it is swimsuit time...and althought I have tried very hard to deny that this moment would be coming around again...but it is (regretfully) here; therefore, I am here to give you the in on some yummy bathing suits that are not only fashionable but great on!!
The first suit is from Victoria Secret and is super affordable...only $88.
Then, we have these beautiful one piece suits that are taking us back in time to a more vintage glam look...these suits by Abaete are beautiful! The teal and black suit retail's for $320, while to pretty pink with the rouched detail is $365.
Then we move down to the denim bikini from Chanel...you'll have to call around for this suit..only select Chanel stores carry it.
The black one shouldered one piece is from Gucci, in case the shoulder buckle didn't tip you off....this suit is about $850, while the black Azzaro with the sexy cut outs is $1,195....enjoy ladies!!

Not only is Becki Newton one of the cutest gals to hit the scene...but she is definitely one of the nicest too! This is a funny image of Becki Newton on set of Ugly Betty as they shoot a company baseball game scene...we think this is the same episode La Lohan and Naomi Campbell are in!!

So, Alexander McQueen finally had his store opening here in LA...the star studded one. Janet Jackson was in attendance, wearing McQueen-of course. (Her ombre gown is beautiful!)
There was a little bit of drama during the coordination of this event. Rumor has (well, it's not a rumor, it's a truth) it that McQueen didn't really care to have many people attend. What he really wanted was an ethnically diverse crowd... as cool as that it, that's also a bit odd. Well, we can't put anything past Lee, can we?
Eve and Joy Bryant also attended the event...as well as, Elizabeth Banks, Natalie Maines, Olivia Wilde, Rebecca Da Mornay, Tracee Ellis Ross, China Chow, Jason Lewis...and tons of other randoms. Who ever did this party was clearly just looking for anyone who was still in town and not in Cannes yet...Alexander McQueen doesn't really like all these people...for a guy who has a list of like 5 people he'd like to dress...these peeps are randoms.

As we all know, each season has a few key trends that are common thread through the brands of our favorite retail therapy locations...Naturally, you can't focus on them all because not every trend is for every body or everybody.
The two trends with staying power is the Safari look and the Bohemian look. Walk up to the windows of American Apparel and you will see cost efficient ways of creating a Safari look of your very own...what's not to love about that!! if you aren't sure of what you want your Safari look to 'look' like, well, I strongly suggest you watch Meryl Streep in Out of Africa for a good schooling!! Don't be afraid to take risks with this philosophy...you can add color and add prints. Just pay mind to the way you do it...
If you are on the hunt for a Boho look- don't fret...turn to any store - and BAM!! you'll find it. All the floor length strapless floral numbers lend themselves to this boho look. Some like to call it the Hippie Revival, it's the same thing, folks! You can also incorporate the fringe trend we talked about last week...this really gives you a lot of room to play!
